|
It is constituted under the Act, to administer the welfare schemes. The Board is headed by the Hon’ble Minister for Labour as Chairman. |
|
The Board consists of 14 members including two women members. The representatives of employers, employees and experts are members. |
1) Medical assistance
scheme: The worker should be in the age
group of 18-60 years and his salary should not exceed Rs. 7,500/- per month. Financial assistance ranging from Rs.
5,000/- to Rs. 10,000/- will be given to employees undergoing severe ailments
like heart surgery, kidney transplantation, cancer, Tuberculosis, etc. The Board has the discretion to decide case
by case on merits.
2) Scholarship Scheme: Grant of Scholarship to the children of employees studying from eighth standard and above including professional courses. The amount ranges from Rs. 500/- to Rs. 2,000/-, per year.
3) Supply of Tri-cycles
to disabled employees: The workers should be in the age
group of 18-60 years and his salary should not exceed Rs.2,500/- per
month. The worker should have
contributed to the Labour Welfare Fund.
Cost of Tri-cycles will be borne by the Board.
4) Financial assistance
for purchase of artificial organs of the body for disabled: The workers should be in the age
group of 18-60 years. No salary limit to get this benefit. The worker should have contributed to the
Labour Welfare Fund. The worker should
neither covered under ESI nor received any assistance from any other
source. The assistance ranges from Rs.
1,000/- to Rs. 5,000/-.
5) Financial assistance
to the family of the deceased workmen to perform last rites: The workers should be in the age group of
18-60 years. The workers working in organized and unorganized sector are
eligible for Rs. 2,000/- under this
Scheme. No salary limit to get this
benefit. The worker should have
contributed to the Labour Welfare Fund.
6) Financial assistance
to the workers in case of accidents: The workers should
be in the age group of 18-60 years. No salary limit to get this benefit. The worker should have contributed to the Labour
Welfare Fund. The worker will get Rs.
1,000/- to Rs. 3,000/- depend upon the severity.
7) Computer courses for
the dependents of the employees: The workers should be in the age group of 18-40 years and studied unto
SSLC are eligible for these courses. These courses are conducted in
coordination with koushalya and Janashikshana Samsthe at

9) Heamophilea: The workers under the age group of 18-60 years are eligible for the benefit. And this amount is to be payable to the Hospitals giving the treatment.This should be claimed by the worker with the consent of the Hospital authorities.
10) Annual Sports: The Labour Organisations ie., AITUC, CITU and INTUC may claim for conducting the yearly sports events where there are Labour strength is high. The amount of assistance is Rs. 20000/-.

Collection of Contribution Fund: The Employers are required to pay
contribution by 15th January every year at the rae of 6:12 ie., employee:employer
by deducting Rs.6/- from the employee and employers contribution of Rs.12/-.
Also the employer is required to deposit the unpaid accumulations, like unpaid
bonus, wages after three years of their becoming due. Further the penalty and
fines are to be paid to the fund immediately.
The payments to the fund may be made
through S.B.I. account No.30428019173 and the same bank slip (ie., Challan)
along with Form-D of the Board.
