  MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FACTORIES AND BOILERS


THE FOLLOWING LABOUR LEGISLATIONS ARE BEING ENFORCED BY THIS DEPARTMENT

  1. The Factories Act, 1948 and The Karnataka Factories Rules 1969.
  2. The Indian Boilers Act, 1923 and The Karnataka Boilers Rules 1982. 
  3. The Payment of Wages Act, 1936 and The Karnataka Payment of Wages Rules 1963.  
  4. Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 and The Karnataka Maternity Benefit Rules, 1963.
  5. The Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and rules made there under;
